Do you want the perfect dog bed?

This is what you have to pay attention to
Finding the perfect dog bed for your four-legged friend requires some time and effort. For example, it is very important to choose the right size and comfort for him or her. Every dog is different. Of course you want to prevent your dog from having an uncomfortable place to sleep and therefore sleeping badly, which results in a lowered mood and a lowered immune system. Did you know that an adult dog sleeps an average of 12 to 14 hours a day? This is (more than) half of a day. You may now be wondering: but how do I choose the perfect dog bed? STUDIO ANIMAUX® helps you with some tips in this blog. Keep reading!

What size do you choose for a dog bed?

As we mentioned earlier, every dog is different. It is important to look at what your four-legged friend likes. That is why the two following aspects are important when choosing a suitable size dog bed: the dimensions of your dog and the needs/sleeping behavior of your dog.

Let’s start with needs/sleeping behavior. Many dogs need a nice warm bed (especially in winter). If the dog bed is too large, the surface will not heat up as quickly for your dog. On the other hand, a dog bed that is too small, will cause discomfort and can make your dog no longer want to lie in the dog bed. When we look at the dog’s sleeping behavior, there are different situations: your dog sleeps stretched out or your dog likes to lie in a bent position. We recommend to measure your dog when he or she is in the favorite sleeping position.

But how do you measure this? The starting point for the measurement is from the tip of the snout to the base of the tail (so do not measure the tail) and then add ten centimeters. In this case, your dog will always have enough space, thanks to the extra ten centimeters.

Guidelines dog size – dog bed size

The size of the STUDIO ANIMAUX® dog bed, therefore, depends on the size of your dog. But you can also look at the weight of your dog. In general, a 10 kg dog needs a dog bed of at least 50 cm wide, a 20 kg dog a dog bed of at least 70 cm wide and a dog over 35 kg needs at least 90 cm wide. We, therefore, recommend that you look at the number of centimeters, not at the size S, M or L.

Now that you know what to pay attention to when choosing a suitable size dog bed, you can provide your four-legged friend with a wonderful, comfortable place to sleep. Because this is what he or she deserves. Dream away and then be able to play and walk actively with his or her owner!

The STUDIO ANIMAUX® dog beds are available in three different sizes. You will find the dimensions and further specifications in the product description. View our complete range of dog beds here.
